Join us on our private tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield & the Soldiers National Cemetery. Tour Comments 1Our tour has been designed to feature the Irish soldier's (both blue & gray) experience at Gettysburg.

The tour will be led by licensed battlefield guide (and former historian for our division), Mike Strong. Transportation will be on a luxury tour bus from Bill Rohrbaugh's Charter Service, complete with large tinted picture windows, air conditioning and lavatory.Tour Comments 2

The tour bus will leave from the parking lot at the old Cyclorama Center (101 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA, 17325) at 9:30AM SHARP!

Please arrive by 9:15AM as the bus MUST leave on time in order to make all stops on the battlefield before lunch.

The bus lot is on the Western side of the Visitor Center (YELLOW area on MAP). Visitor parking is also available across Taneytown Road in the overflow lot. Note that the Visitor Center no longer stands at this location and it's parking lot is roped off. You must park on the Cyclorama side (highlighted in yellow) of the old Visitor Center.

Highlights of the tour will include the Peace Light Memorial, McMillan Woods (where Pickett's Charge started), the Wheatfield & Peach Orchard, Devil's Den, Little Round Top, NY Irish Brigade monument, Fr. Corby monument, Pennsylvania monument, The Angle & the High Water Mark. Please note that due to the logistics of time, not all of these points of interests will be stops on the tour.Tour Comments 3

Once the tour of the battlefield is complete, we will be off to Gen. Pickett's buffet for lunch.

Tour Comments 4After lunch, we'll board the bus for a short ride back to the Cyclorama parking lot where we'll disembark and walk across the Taneytown Road to the Soldiers National Cemetery. At the cemetery's formal dedication in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered his most famous speech, the "Gettysburg Address". The cemetery is also the site of numerous monuments and memorials including the New York Monument, statue to Major General John Reynolds, and the "Friend to Friend Memorial" in the National Cemetery Annex.

Once the tour of the cemetery is over, we would encourage those intertested to take a short drive to the brand new Visitor's Center located at 1195 Baltimore Pike. Of course you may also choose to walk the town & shop for souvenirs, or join us at the Garryowen Pub (126 Chambersburg St.) just 2 blocks west of the town square for a bit of socializing.
