The monument to Col. Patrick O'Rorke of the 140th NY Infantry who was killed in the defense of Little Round Top on the 2nd day of the battle.
As you can see, his nose has been rubbed to bare bronze by visitors who apparently are unaware of the damage this does to the monument.
For whatever reason, it's thought that it gives good luck...Colonel O'Rorke, I imagine, would disagree.
